A number of marble professionals have given me a bid for polishing my marble floor. Several of them have mentioned the word recrystallization. What is this process, and is it safe for my marble?

There are several processes for the polishing of marble, and recrystallization is one of them. Refer to question # 17 for a complete description of this process. The safety of the process is a safe as the applicator. Be sure the marble contractors is familiar with this process and ask for references where he has used it before.

TIP It may be a good idea to request a sample of the process the contractor wishes to use. Allow the sample to sit for several weeks and then decide.
