How can I remove mildew from the grout on my shower walls? I’ve tried all the mildew removers, and they don’t do a good job.

The mildew on you grout has penetrated deeply. To remove it, you will have to prepare a mixture of bleach and an abrasive cleaner like Soft Scrub. Apply the thick mixture to the grout with a paint brush and allow it to set overnight. Rinse the thick paste away and reapply if necessary. If this procedure doesn’t work, the grout will have to be removed and replaced.

TIP To prevent the mildew from returning it is important that you seal the grout with a good grout sealer. Check the resource directory at the back of this book.
