Applying an Impregnator to a Wall or Vertical Surface

It can be challenging to apply an impregnator to a natural stone wall or vertical surface, because gravity causes the product to drip and dribble before it has time to be absorbed. It is no surprise that contractors often end up with uneven coverage and wasted product. 

Fred Hueston, Chief Technical Director of Surface Care Pros and owner of Stone Forensics provides the following recommendations for applying impregnator to a wall or vertical surface that has a polished finish:

Hueston recommends using a sprayer to apply impregnator to a wall or vertical surface that has an unpolished finish. He warns, “The solvents in the impregnators can be damaging to the sprayer parts. Use a solvent-resistant sprayer.”
