Is there a filler I can use on travertine that will take a polish? I tried using grout and it will not polish.

Yes, there are several fillers that can be used that will take a polish. If the area is small you can use a polyester filler. These polyesters are sold at marble supply houses as Akemi, K-bond, Chemolit, etc. You will only be able to fill several small sections at a time since this polyester hardens very fast, usually within several minutes. Another alternative for larger areas is to use an epoxy grout. Epoxy grout will also set fast but not as fast as the polyester. You will have a working time of up to one hour. In both cases make sure to overfill the holes, since the polyester and the epoxy will shrink when cured.

TIP If you need to fill these holes try using a polyester or epoxy filler. These fillers will polish giving the travertine a uniform shine. Epoxy grout works great as a filler.
